Rachel York trained in makeup for Theatre, Film and Television at the London Makeup School and Westminster College, developing a special interest in theatrical makeup and special effects.
Rachel is the Head of Wigs, Hair & Make-Up at Immersion Theatre and is also the resident make-up artist for Le Nouveau Guignol, the UK's only repatory horror theatre company. In the same vein, she has also worked as a make-up and special effects artist for Theatre of the Damned. Rachel spent the summer of 2011 working at The Courtyard Theatre, Hoxton, as the make-up designer for their new production of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. She rejoined Nouveau Guignol in November 2011 to take a new set of plays to the London Horror Festival; Rachel is currently working on Immersion Theatre's new production of Julius Caesar.
